2008-04-08ChrisWent there late last year. Lots (and I mean lots) of the machines are broken. If they actually have power at all, they either have display issues or the stick/buttons don't work properly. A few of the older 'classic' games are free but the aforementioned quality of the machines counters this.
2006-08-10Viva SEGAYes there used to be 3 nickel cities in San Jose, and one in San Diego, (but 2 of the San Jose ones closed down (including this "E. Capitol Expressway" one) but there remains the 'Branham Lane' one. Its the "Camden Ave." exit off highway 85. If you're coming from SF, [either via 280 or 101], then take the 85-south juction, drive about 10 minutes, and you'll see Camden.. If you're coming from south then I guess the best way to go is to take 680-south which becomes 280-south.. then juction into 85-south, and once again after about 10 minutes take Camden exit! Its right on the corner after the VTA Bus/Bart parking lot.. you'll see the El Pollo Loco! By the way this Nickel City is also by Capitol Expressway though techniqually it is of the "W.Capitol" variety.. Please support Nickel City! $2 to get thru the door, and a lot of free classic games.. the newer games include: Cruisin Exotica, The Fast & The Furious, Wangan Midnight: Midnight Tune (#1, not the sequel with card tuning), 18-Wheeler: American Pro Trucker, Crazy Taxi, Jambo! Safari, Time Crisis 3, Konami's Police 911, Arctic Thunder, Power Stone 2, Sega (2004-ish) Olympics & MLB games ..etc.. i forget.. the classics include: Paperboy, Rampart, Asteriods, The Simpsons, G-Loc, Blood Brothers, 92-94ish Soccer & Baseball games, etc!! Dancing games include Para-para and DDR (dunno what ver.) Plently of 2d fighters.. also.. GOOD NIGHT, Please check it out, I dont want the only nearby arcade to die!
2005-02-20AineI love Nickel City. For six bucks, my boyfriend and I can play video games for hours! Admission costs $2 and the classic games are five cents or free. I'm not sure if the NC on E. Capital is still there, but there is another one on Branham Ln.
