2008-03-16DanThe Centipede seems to be gone. It's been over 6 months since I saw it there.
2007-12-05Richard M.The very best players could score over 900K on Ms. Pac-Man, and can reach this score on either a sped-up or regular-speed game. In the "anniversary edition", one can play 141 mazes, while in the orignal machine the game often ends on the 133rd, where you get an upside-down Chase screen. In either case, if you complete maze #141, the machine then resets. There are hundreds or thousands who can reach the end of a sped-up game; there are only about six who can get that far on a regular-speed game.
2007-12-05DanGood point. As much as I love Ms. Pac-man, I have trouble seeing over the horizon of 200,000 points. I wonder what Billy's record would be with a sped up Ms. Pac-man. I also wonder if the newer machine has a death screen or how far a good player can actually go on one of these things. The Galaga does have a fast shooter.
2007-12-01DanThe Centipede/Millipede/Missile Command/Bowling combo is gone right now. Hopefully, it is out for repair. I met two attractive girls there a while back. One claimed to have scored over 500,000 on the Ms Pac-man with one quarter. Apparently, she and her friend play at the Hub on a regular basis. I am told they work at the local Dominoes Pizza. The Ms Pac-man score is up to almost 800,000. I think that one of these young ladies may have something to do with that. Look out Billy Mitchell; there may be a new Billie Jean King (of Kong) on her way from the wings to knock you off your throne.
2007-12-01Richard M.Sounds like the Ms. Pac-Man game is sped up. Scores of 500K to 800K are impressive when done on one quarter even on a sped-up game, but only by doing it on a regular-speed game would the players be in the "Billy Mitchell" class. Is Galaga sped-up as well?
2006-03-05DanLocated at 719 N Franklin St. (Downtown Tampa, next to the Tampa Theater) Tampa, FL 33602-4411 (813) 229-1553. The Hub just added the Centipede/Millipede/Missile Command (Let's Go Bowling) machine. It is very rare according to Coin-Op. They also have a Simpson's pinball and two other pinball machines I can't think of at the moment.
