2003-06-07Tom GrahamOne of the best arcades for maintaining 80s games I've seen for a long time. It's the place to go if luck doesn't go your way in the casinos. One quarter can go for 10 minutes, or five bucks for 10 seconds at a blackjack table!
2003-03-16Richard M.I enjoyed RuenOne's post. But is Harrah's security really that concerned about potential gamblers visiting the arcade, or is it merely RuenOne's jumping that got all the attention? I've played arcade games in casinos in Nevada (in and near Las Vegas) and Connecticut without ever receiving anything more than normal interest when I'm having a good game. It just seems that casino security has other things to do, like harass skilled blackjack players - "card counters."
2003-02-15Agent RuenOneMy last secret mission to locate arcade classics was in Reno, Nevada, January 15th 2003. I talked to many locals and people visiting the casinos, but I did not get many leads, so after hours of coming up clueless, I went deep-cover and began searching casino after casino for hidden arcades. I wondered into Harrah's and pretended to enjoy gambling so security wouldn't notice me. After playing a few boring "games," I saw my chance to make my move. I asked for the "bathrooms" and "pay-phones" knowing they would send me walking all through the place. So I'm walking around on the second floor and a younger security gaurd spots me, but I hold my cool and walk right by him down this long hall, I could smell it!! I knew I was there! And low and behold at the end of the hall was a nice size arcade with 4 classics. I knew security would be on to me, so being short on time, I picked Dig-Dug, it worked like a charm! And the machine was in great condition. I blew up as many round dudes and dragons as I could, made it to the 3rd level and died, which would have been fine, but I was jumping up and down going crazy!! (No games were hurt in this mission, I am strongly against all arcade abuse and vandalism!!)Security came in from all directions, I jumped through the window and activated my hover pack, a few scratches but I'm okay. Thats pretty much how it went down, till next time!! RuenOne signing out
